Released in 2022 and part of the LEGO Icons themes, the LEGO Boutique Hotel is a great set for both builders and investors alike.
First launched in 2007, LEGO Modular Buildings are a unique, creative way for LEGO fans of all ages and experience levels to build iconic buildings from the ground up. Part of the LEGO Icons series, they are specially designed with feedback from both Adult Fans of LEGO (AFOL) and Teen Fans of LEGO (TFOL), so they offer advanced building techniques often not found in traditional sets. To celebrate this being the 15th Anniversary model, LEGO model designer Anderson Ward Grubb has hidden all sorts of references to Modular Buildings of the past into the set, which are also annotated throughout the instructions.
The 5-storey structure is inspired by magnificent turn-of-the-century European architecture and features a variety of unusual triangular geometries and elegant decor. Builders can assemble the guest rooms and penthouse suit, lobby, terrace and staircase to create a unique building for their LEGO town. With minifigures comprising of a hotel porter, receptionist, coffee vendor and gallery owner among the collection of hotel guests and staff, stories can be brought to life. Lots of imaginative features are included in the building, we especially like the Mondrian & the Picasso style paintings and clever parts usage including the use of a bumper car for top window, black snakes for architectural detail, LEGO cupcake holders upside down as lamps and much more.
