A new addition to the LEGO Icons theme, LEGO 10330 launches on March the 1st 2024 and is available for pre-order at LEGO.com

An amazingly detailed LEGO car, the LEGO McLaren MP4/4 also comes with an Ayrton Senna minifigure which is a very compelling package. With 700 pieces the price per brick is 12c and we expect it to be at retail until the end of 2025.

The LEGO Icons theme is a solid, consistent theme delivering 12% annualised growth and the LEGO Icons Vehicles sub-theme has produced 11% annualised average growth cross the 10 retired sets.

We have taken a look at some of the more popular LEGO Icons sets including LEGO Icons Brick Bank (10251) which has seen 250% growth since retiring in 2018 (28% annualised) and LEGO Downtown diner (10260) which has doubled in value since retiring at the end of 2020 (25% annualised).

Comparable Set Analysis

Last years’ 7 retired LEGO Icons sets didn’t perform as strongly however, with an average of just 2% growth so far but a broad range of performance within. LEGO Fiat 500 (10291) has seen 6% growth in the year.

The picture is far stronger when you look at the year before within the sub theme, with the 4 LEGO sets that retired in 2021 with average total growth of 22% over the 2 years.

We’ve taken a look at some of the retired Icons sets below including LEGO 10242 Mini Cooper MK VII which has more than doubled in value since retiring in 2015 (10% annualised growth) and LEGO 10248 Ferrari F40 which has more than trebled since retiring in 2017 (20% annualised growth).

Conclusion

A stunning model which will appeal to Formula 1 and LEGO enthusiasts from a solid theme. For now, LEGO 10330 would not be an investment for us but one to buy and build. It will be going onto our watchlist to revisit further down the line when it gets closer to retirement.
