21336 LEGO The Office. Is the Office LEGO set the best way to start your LEGO Ideas TV Sets collection? If you are wanting to take a break from the norm, while still enjoying a funny dose of reality, then you can’t go wrong with watching a ‘mockumentary’. Originating with films such as A Hard Day’s Night in the 1960’s to Monty Python in the 1970’s the genre made their way to TV series in the early 2000’s. Although keeping their roots in reality and a documentary format, the shows are often over the top with their satire of the subject.
One such show which has been hugely popular around the globe is The Office. First created in the UK in 2001 it was soon followed in 2005 with an American version. Running for 9 seasons the show followed a paper company ‘Dunder Mifflin’s’ in the hands of Scranton, PA branch manager Michael Scott. This mockumentary follows the everyday lives of the manager and the employees he tries to manage.
Following on from the successes of the LEGO Ideas Friend Central Perk and Seinfeld TV sets, it was probably only natural that a set dedicated to The Office was produced.
Set details
Released in 2022, the set has 1164 pieces and 15 Minifigures bringing the story to life. The illustrated Dunder Mifflin’s instruction booklet includes an introduction to The Office, and the premise of the show, a profile on fan designer JaiJai Lewis, as well as the design team, and of course detailed instructions, although compared to other sets this is not a complicated build.
The Minifigures including Michael Scott, Dwight Schrute, Jim Halpert, Pam Beesly, Angela Martin, plus a LEGO figure of Garbage the cat are the stars of the set with their individuality and props. Classic moments from the show can be relived as the set is built and references to many of The Office’s timeless jokes can be seen.
Measuring 30cm wide and 25 cm deep, this is a great set to display, but with hundreds of thousands of The Office fans around the world, it could also be a great one to invest in.

Theme Analysis
Within the LEGO Ideas theme there are very few retired sets that are from licensed TV or Films. We have looked at a few below.
Set Number | Set Name | Retired Date | RRP | Current Value | Total Growth | Annualised Growth |
21108 | Ghostbusters Ecto-1 | 31/12/2016 | $50 | $141 | 182% | 14% |
21316 | The Flintstones | 31/12/2020 | $60 | $100 | 67% | 14% |
21324 | 123 Sesame Street | 31/12/2022 | $120 | $148 | 23% | 13% |
Comparable Set Analysis
We were more interested to look at the very specific genre of “TV sets” within the sub theme and most specifically the Big Bang Theory set (21302) which retired in 2016 but has more than trebled in value thanks to annualised growth of 22%. This really underpins the value we perceive there will be in the following sets including this one and also The Friends Apartments (10292), Friends Central Perk (21319) and Seinfeld (21328), all of which are due to retire soon (and will give us a better steer as to the likely future performance of this set).
Please note the Friends Apartment is within the LEGO Icons theme not LEGO Ideas.
Set Number | Set Name | Retired Date | RRP | Current Value | Total Growth | Annualised Growth |
21108 | Ghostbusters Ecto-1 | 31/12/2016 | $50 | $141 | 182% | 14% |
21316 | The Flintstones | 31/12/2020 | $60 | $100 | 67% | 14% |
21324 | 123 Sesame Street | 31/12/2022 | $120 | $148 | 23% | 13% |
Conclusion
A very interesting proposition, and if as we expect, these LEGO Ideas “TV sets” follow the example set by the Big Bang Theory set then this will prove to be a very decent investment in the medium to long term.
The Office theme should be strong enough to underpin this and will bring its own fans who will look to purchase the set. Available currently at LEGO for £104.99, it might be worth considering the 3 other TV Sets we listed earlier too:
Friends Central Perk: £69.99 at LEGO
The Friends Apartments: £159.99 at LEGO
Seinfeld: £69.99 at LEGO
Purchase one or more of the above sets and start your collection of LEGO Ideas TV Sets!
