76328 LEGO Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile | Rev Up Nostalgia with the 1966 LEGO Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile

Last Updated: 2 months ago

If you’re a Batman fan, a LEGO DC Comics Superheroes fan or LEGO DC collector, you’re in for a real treat with 76328 LEGO Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile. This set, dropping on October 1st, brings one of the most iconic Batmobiles of all time to life in LEGO form. And let’s be real—if you’ve been following the LEGO Batmobile releases, this one was bound to happen sooner or later. The 1960s Batmobile is a fan favourite, and LEGO has gone all out to do it justice.

We’ve seen the 1960s Batmobile before in LEGO, but never like this. LEGO has upsized this beauty to match other large-scale sets like the 76139 1989 Batmobile and the 76240 Batmobile Tumbler, so you know it’s going to look great next to those on display. At over 1,800 pieces, this build isn’t just for show; it’s a satisfying project that captures the curves, fins, and all those little details that make the classic Batmobile so memorable.

Set Details

The LEGO® DC Batman™: The Classic TV Series Batmobile™ (76328) is a stunning collectible designed for adult fans who enjoy building and displaying iconic memorabilia. Inspired by the classic 1966 Batman TV show, this set captures the retro charm of the original Batmobile with features like a molded windshield, rotatable wheels, and an opening trunk that houses the Bat-Computer. The set includes a 1966-style Batman minifigure, complete with his distinctive cape, cowl, and Batarang™, although Robin is noticeably absent. It’s a bit of a head-scratcher since the Batmobile has two seats and Robin is kind of a big deal in the original TV series. We think it would’ve been nice to get Burt Ward’s Robin, but I guess we’ll have to make do with solo Batman this time around. Despite minor design compromises, such as squared-off wheel arches, the model still stands out with impressive details like newly designed windscreen elements packaged separately to prevent scratches. This Batmobile is a perfect addition to any Batman or 1960s pop culture collection, offering a rewarding and enjoyable building experience.

Investment Potential

LEGO 76328 is the latest incarnation of the legendary Batmobile and one we think is a great looking LEGO model. It comes with nearly 2,000 pieces and a relatively inexpensive price per brick of 8c / 7p.

Being launched at LEGO on the 1st of October, there is a great promotion available for this set currently if you pre-order this before 23rd September you will receive 2x points as a LEGO Insiders member and in addition to that you will also receive the current Batman GWP promotional LEGO set LEGO 30653 LEGO DC Batman 1992.

Theme Analysis

LEGO DC Comics Superheroes was first launched in 2011 and is approaching having 200 sets within. As an overall theme, LEGO DC Comics Superheroes (76328) delivers average annualised growth of 7%, with some very successful in the theme. We have looked at some of the LEGO Batman sets at similar price points below including LEGO Batcave Clayface Invasion (76122) which has increased in value by 43% since retiring in 2020 (10% annualised growth) and LEGO Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout which has increased in value by 66% since retiring in 2014.

Comparable Sets

Looking in more detail at the sets within the Batman Classic TV Series sub-theme there are 3 retired sets. The biggest set Batman Classic TV Series Batcave (76052) hasn’t changed much in value since retiring in 2017, however the other 2 sets have both performed initially well having only having retired at the end of 2022. LEGO Batan Classic TV Series Batmobile (76188) has risen 40% and Classic TV Series Batman Cowl (76238) 18%.

Conclusion

Why You Should Jump on This

Here’s the deal: if you’re into LEGO vehicles or Batman, this set is a no-brainer. It’s not just a display piece, though it’ll look amazing on any shelf. It’s a quality build, and at this price point, it’s hard to argue against picking it up—especially when you think about how well LEGO Batmobiles tend to perform on the secondary market.

So, whether you’re a builder, a collector, or someone who loves a good investment, 76328 Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile is a set that is worth picking up.
