Theme Analysis
The LEGO Icons theme is a popular one, and one we regularly turn to for potential LEGO investments. There have to date been over 100 sets released within the LEGO Icons theme and more than half of these are now retired. Across the retired sets the average LEGO returns are a very healthy 13% a year.
In recent times there has been a shift towards bigger blockbuster sets within the LEGO Icons theme but LEGO 10337 is a continuation of them releasing some Iconic cars at this more mid-range price.

Comparable Set Analysis
The Vehicles sub-theme within the LEGO Icons theme performs slightly worse than the overall LEGO Icons theme delivering average LEGO returns of 10% a year. However, that increases when we look specifically at the cars within the sub-theme and even more so when look at the supercars.
The closest example to LEGO 10337 is LEGO 10238 the LEGO Ferrari F40 which has seen stunning performance since retiring in 2017, with over 250% total growth equating to annualised LEGO returns of 21%.
We also looked at LEGO James Bond Aston Martin DB5 (10262) which has seen nearly 50% total growth since retiring at the end of 2021 (16% annualised growth) and LEGO Volkswagen Beetle (10252) which has seen 40% total growth since retiring at the end of 2020 (10% annualised growth).
Set Number | Set Name | Retired Date | RRP | Current Value | Total Growth | Annualised Growth |
10248 | Ferrari F40 | 31/12/2017 | $100 | $332 | 232% | 19% |
10252 | Volkswagen Beetle | 31/12/2020 | $100 | $150 | 50% | 11% |
10262 | James Bond Aston Martin DB5 | 31/12/2021 | $150 | $207 | 38% | 12% |
Conclusion
As a new release this is not a LEGO investment for us currently, albeit it is definitely one which will go onto our watchlist to reassess when it is closer to its retirement date. The LEGO Icons theme is strong, and the supercars within the vehicles sub-theme do even better so we definitely think it will be a good LEGO investment in time.
For now, if you like this then a smaller version for the LEGO Speed Champions theme is well worth considering as an investment option now. LEGO Speed champions 76908 is available at LEGO for its RRP but you should be able to secure at least a 20% discount if you buy at Amazon. Bear in mind it is scheduled to retire later this year so snap it up before it becomes retired LEGO!
