21326 LEGO Winnie the Pooh. Add this timeless LEGO Ideas classic to your portfolio. Nestled deep in the 100 Acre Wood, lie the homes of Winnie the Pooh and friends. The stories of the lovable bear with human like characteristics, who is always there to help his friends, evolved from the imagination of A.A. Milne. Based upon his son’s teddy bear, the tales also included Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Tigger, Owl and Rabbit, their adventures have been loved by generations of families.
Winnie The Pooh is one of the largest and most wholesome franchises of all time. The movies and TV series that Disney has created over the years have brought the characters and their stories to life in a magically fun manner, showing the diverse personalities and kind souls of the characters which interact with each other so well.

Submitted as a LEGO® Idea in 2019, Ben Alder’s model of the 100 Acre Wood and Winnie the Pooh’s house, complete with his friends, easily hit the requisite 10,000 votes, but also went all the way to being turned into the 2nd LEGO Ideas set of 2021.
Released as the loveable bear celebrated his 95th Birthday, LEGO set 21326 invited fans to relive their childhood memories in this beautifully detailed model. Hidden under a large leafy tree, complete with buzzy bees, the house opens at the back revealing great details, including Pooh’s buildable armchair, Pooh-Coo clock, Poohsticks, honey pot elements and much more. The set also comes with Disney’s Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Rabbit minifigures, plus an Eeyore LEGO figure. All of which include their own accessory.
The colourful booklet features classic hand drawn illustrations, along with information about the design team and also Ben Alder and his family. The 1,265-piece set is a great collectors set for any LEGO or Disney fan. Standing at 24 cm high, 18 cm wide and 22 cm deep the set makes a wonderful display piece if you decide to build, rather than invest in the set!

Investment Potential
A one-off set of Winnie the Pooh looks set to be a decent investment. Whilst we don’t have any hard and fast comparators there are plenty of successful sets within the Licensed theme and we think within a set pickers theme this has a very high chance of being successful post retirement, especially with the 100th Anniversary of the original book coming up in 2026.
We are projecting 5% annualised growth but this may well increase as the anniversary approaches when we are likely to see an uplift in demand.

Theme Analysis
The Lego Ideas theme has been a very successful one for LEGO with over 50 sets now spread across 5 sub-themes and has seen historic price growth of close to 10% per annum on retired sets. The Licensed sub-theme has performed in line with the overall theme albeit within both there is a broad range of performance around the average values and set picking becomes very important.
Set Number | Set Name | Retired Date | RRP | Current Value | Total Growth | Annualised Growth |
21309 | NASA Apollo Saturn V | 31/12/2019 | $120 | $196 | 63% | 11% |

Comparable Set Analysis
Within the Licensed sub-theme we have looked at the 4 closest sets to this one, albeit the theme has a broad remit and the performance post retirement is quite varied across the sets. In the main the sets have seen solid performance, with annualised growth below 10%, the one big outlier is 21303 Wall-E which has seen phenomenal post retirement growth of nearly 400%, annualised at nearly 30%!
Set Number | Set Name | Retired Date | RRP | Current Value | Total Growth | Annualised Growth |
21303 | WALL-E | 31/12/2016 | $60 | $304 | 407% | 23% |
21308 | Adventure Time | 31/12/2018 | $50 | $67 | 34% | 5% |
21316 | The Flintstones | 31/12/2020 | $60 | $100 | 67% | 14% |
21317 | Steamboat Willie | 31/12/2020 | $90 | $137 | 52% | 12% |
Conclusion
A very interesting theme and sub-theme from an investment perspective, the Ideas theme is very hit and miss post retirement for investment. It is definitely a “set pickers” theme and one where you need to have a specific reason to think the set will do well on its own merits, not just those of the theme.
We are quietly confident that Winnie the Pooh model could be a very popular set for years to come as it falls into “timeless classic” for us and one we would definitely consider investing in. The value is partially underwritten by the 5 unique minifigures included, which already account for approximately a 1/3rd of the sets retail price. Sets within this subtheme tend to have a relatively short retail sale lifespan of close to 2 years, which would make this set due for retirement anytime. It can be purchased at LEGO or at Argos for the RRP of £90 though we would look to see if any discounts are offered before the set is potentially retired.
