Published: 1 year ago

Last Updated: 1 month ago

75277 LEGO Boba Fett™ Helmet. LEGO Boba Fett Helmet is a must for LEGO Star Wars Fans. From the classic Stormtrooper Helmet to The LEGO Mandalorian Helmet and the LEGO Luke Skywalker (Red Five) Helmet, the LEGO Star Wars™ Helmet series have proved exceedingly popular with fans of LEGO and Star Wars. Each set features special elements that capture the unique details of each character's helmet – so you can build something truly unique. Plus, each set comes with building instructions and background information about the characters and their helmets – so you can stay informed about your favourite Star Wars lore!

Boba Fett is one of the most legendary and easily recognizable characters in the Star Wars universe. He’s a bounty hunter with a mysterious past, who often makes use of his intimidating armour and jetpack to capture or eliminate any target he’s been assigned. Although his lack of dialog may lead some to believe that Boba Fett is nothing more than a silent killer, the truth is far more complicated. He’s actually quite the strategist, using his experience and cunning to find weaknesses in his opponents and take advantage of them. Despite his reputation as an efficient assassin, Boba Fett also has a softer side that’s revealed on occasion, such as when he shows mercy to Han Solo before delivering him to Jabba the Hutt. A true fan favourite, Boba Fett’s reputation as an iconic character is well deserved.

Investment Potential

You will certainly feel like you have the force if you picked up plenty of the TIE Fighter Pilot Helmets before retirement which wasn’t that long ago. The incredible growth on that set within a year has shown blockbuster LEGO investment appeal. Let’s look at this recently retired LEGO set and work out if its one still to pick up even if we factor in retirement pop.

Launch RRP 60
5th Year Value $414

Sub Theme Growth 0%

Theme Analysis

We do think that the LEGO Star Wars Helmets are very much positioned outside the main LEGO Star Wars theme but as always its good to look at the parent theme when confirming investment potential. The LEGO Star Wars theme is pretty robust on most fronts. It is a massive one though with so many sub themes to look at. In this instance we took a deeper look at sets that had a comparable price point within the parent theme for some analysis. The sets we looked at included LEGO First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter, LEGO Darth Mauls Sith Infiltrator, LEGO Star Scavenger and LEGO V-19 Torrent.  These 4 sets had an average annualised growth of 7% which is a little less than the overall LEGO Star Wars themes growth of 8%.

Set Number Set Name Retired Date RRP Current Value Total Growth Annualised Growth
75101 First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter 30/04/2016 $70 $95 36% 4%
75147 StarScavenger 31/12/2017 $50 $78 56% 7%
7674 V-19 Torrent 31/12/2009 $55 $350 536% 13%
7961 Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator 31/12/2012 $70 $170 143% 8%

Comparable Set Analysis

The keyboard started to shake when I looked closer at the retired LEGO Star Wars Helmets as the performance was incredible. As we only had two sets to look at, we opened up the comparison date to look at LEGO Helmets from other parent themes and quickly saw that this level of performance isn’t unique to just LEGO Star Wars Helmets. We looked at LEGO Tie Fighter Pilot Helmet, LEGO Stormtrooper Helmet, LEGO Iron Man helmet and LEGO Spiderman Carnage. These 4 sets combined have annualised growth of 92%.

Set Number Set Name Retired Date RRP Current Value Total Growth Annualised Growth
75274 TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet 31/12/2021 $60 $320 433% 84%
75276 Stormtrooper Helmet 31/12/2021 $60 $180 200% 49%
76165 Iron Man Helmet 31/12/2021 $60 $145 142% 38%
76199 Carnage 31/12/2022 $60 $93 55% 28%

Conclusion

The LEGO Boba Fett Helmet is a must purchase for Star Wars fans and in truth it’s a no brainer purchase for LEGO Investors. A startlingly strong investment profile and literally a must buy for you if you can still snap it up at a reasonable price.
