Comparable Set Analysis
The Mandalorian sub-theme was launched in 2019 and so far there have only been 6 sets that have retired, 2 at the end of 2021 and 4 at the end of last year. Initial performance has been at the 2 extremes. LEGO Star Wars The Armorer’s Mandalorian Forge only retired at the of last year but has already doubled in value whereas Star Wars ST-ST Raider retired at the end of 2021 and is currently valued 26% below its retirement price! Initial signs make it look like a set picker’s sub theme.
Set Number | Set Name | Retired Date | RRP | Current Value | Total Growth | Annualised Growth |
75254 | AT-ST Raider | 31/12/2021 | $50 | $48 | -4% | -1% |
75267 | Mandalorian Battle Pack | 31/12/2021 | $15 | $21 | 40% | 13% |
75319 | The Armorer's Mandalorian Forge | 31/12/2022 | $30 | $54 | 80% | 40% |
Conclusion
A retiring set from the Star Wars theme is always high up our investment list and this one seems to be a strong candidate to invest in. A relatively new sub-theme with some mixed performance clouds the picture slightly but we still think this set is worth adding to your portfolio, especially if you can find it at a discount before it retires.
