Since its debut in 2011, LEGO NINJAGO has become one of the most popular and enduring LEGO themes, captivating fans with its blend of ninja action, epic storytelling, and innovative builds. Inspired by the hit NINJAGO LEGO TV series, the sets bring the world of Spinjitzu to life with detailed temples, dragons, vehicles, and sprawling cityscapes. Over the years, the theme has evolved, introducing fresh storylines, updated designs, and increasingly complex and collectible models. With a dedicated fanbase and a growing lineup of new LEGO NINJAGO sets, the theme continues to thrive, offering exciting building experiences for both longtime collectors and new fans looking to join the adventure. We take a look at the next set to hit the market on March 1st below:

Set Details

The LEGO NINJAGO City Workshops (71837) is an exciting addition to the NINJAGO City series, offering ninja fans aged 14 and up a dynamic and highly detailed build. With 3,244 pieces, this impressive multi-level playset features four action-packed floors, including apartments, shops, restaurants, a mechanic workshop, and two working cranes. Unique to this set, it introduces the first-ever posable mech in a NINJAGO City build, which can be customized with armour and stickers before being displayed in its dedicated mech bay.

Packed with 10 detailed minifigures, including Zane, Pixal, Harumi, Dorama, Dr. LaRow, Twitchy Tim, and more, this set lets fans recreate epic battles from season 3 of NINJAGO Dragons Rising. Priced at $249.99 / €249.99 / £219.99, NINJAGO City Workshops is a must-have for collectors and builders looking to expand their LEGO® NINJAGO® world with an immersive and interactive modular city experience.

Theme Analysis

LEGO NINJAGO is a hugely popular theme that has been running since 2011 and has seen over 500 sets launched and has been a strong one to invest in LEGO sets with an average annualised growth on the retired sets of 11%. The theme continues to have strong appeal to a loyal following and we would expect this latest addition to the LEGO City modular range to prove similarly popular.

We have taken a look at some of the best retired LEGO NINJAGO sets from an investing in LEGO perspective below including LEGO Dawn of Iron Doom (70626) which is now valued at over $400, 6 times more than its $60 RRP (31% annualised growth), LEGO Battle for NINJAGO City (70728) which has seen nearly 300% total growth (16% annualised growth since retiring in 2015), LEGO Attack of the Morro Dragon (70736) which has more than tripled in valued to over $250 (18% annualised growth) and LEGO Lloyd’s Titan Mech (70676) which has seen its value soar from $80 to over $220 since retiring in 2020 (29% annualised growth).

Conclusion

Another great looking modular LEGO NINJAGO City set, LEGO 71837 looks likely to follow in the footsteps of the likes of LEGO NINJAGO City (70620), LEGO NINJAGO City Gardens (71741), LEGO NINJAGO City Markets (71799) and LEGO NINJAGO City Docks (70657) as a popular LEGO NINJAGO set for NINJAGO fans, LEGO builders, LEGO collectors and LEGO investors.
