Since its debut in 1999, LEGO Star Wars has become one of the most beloved and enduring themes in LEGO history, bringing the galaxy far, far away to life with highly detailed sets inspired by iconic characters, ships, and locations. Over the years, the Star Wars LEGO theme has expanded to include everything from massive Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) builds to playful diorama sets, capturing the imagination of Star Wars fans and LEGO builders alike. One of the most popular sub-series in recent years has been the LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection, which allows fans to build and display detailed recreations of legendary helmets from across the saga. From Darth Vader and Boba Fett to Clone Troopers and Rebel pilots, these helmets have become must-have collectibles, blending LEGO’s signature building experience with stunning display pieces. Now, the latest addition to the series, the AT-AT Driver Helmet, is ready to join the ranks! Read on to discover more about this exciting new release and why it's a must-have for Star Wars and LEGO enthusiasts alike.

Set Details

The LEGO Star Wars AT-AT Driver Helmet (75429) is a great addition to the LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection, capturing the distinctive design of the Imperial AT-AT drivers from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Comprising 730 pieces, this set offers a building experience that showcases excellent construction techniques. Notably, the helmet's structure deviates from previous models by utilizing angled panels connected to a Technic core, allowing for more accurate shaping around the face and respirator housings. The helmet's colour reflects the on-screen appearance of the AT-AT drivers, distinguishing it from other Imperial helmets in the series. Detailed features include printed Imperial insignias and carefully designed mechanical elements above the eyes, enhancing the model's authenticity. Measuring over 19 cm in height, 13 cm in width, and 14 cm in depth, the helmet comes with a display stand and nameplate, making it an impressive piece for any collection.

Theme Analysis

Another LEGO helmet from the blockbuster LEGO Star Wars theme. Since its inception 25 years ago, there have been nearly a 1,000 LEGO Star Wars sets released and in total they are valued in excess of $100,000! As a theme in total, the retired sets have delivered average annualised growth of 11%.

The LEGO® Star Wars™ Helmet Collection sub-theme was launched in 2020 and LEGO 75429 will be the 12th set. The 8 retired sets have shown very strong growth since retirement, with average annualised growth in excess of 30%. This growth is heavily stacked towards the original LEGO Helmets and the performance of the more recently sets hasn’t been as strong.

We have taken a look below at some of the LEGO Star Wars Helmet collections’ retired sets including LEGO TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet (75274) which is now valued 4 times higher than its RRP since retiring in 2021 (64% annualised growth), LEGO Stormtrooper Helmet (75276) which has trebled in value (41% annualised growth) and LEGO Dark Trooper Helmet (75343) which has already jumped 40% in value since retiring at the end of 2023.

Conclusion

LEGO 75429 has all the hallmarks of a strong investment, coming from the LEGO Star Wars theme and a sub-theme within which has had stellar performance (albeit on a small sample size). As always, we will take a look at the supply and demand once launched and also keep an eye on the performance of the recently retired sets from the LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection but having launched on March 1st 2025 it is available to purchase at LEGO now.
