LEGO Star Wars is a match made in plastic brick heaven. Combining two of the most beloved franchises in pop culture, it's no wonder that this series has become a fan favourite. As a massive LEGO fan myself, I can attest to the joy that comes with building and tinkering with LEGO sets! Add in the iconic characters, settings and storylines of Star Wars, and it's a recipe for endless fun. Plus, who wouldn't want to see Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker duke it out in a LEGO world? With its clever humour and faithful attention to detail, LEGO Star Wars has rightfully earned its place as a must have for kids and adult builders and investors alike. And now, at the San Diego Comic-Con, LEGO has announced three new upcoming Star Wars LEGO sets: Two sets were linked to the upcoming Star Wars series titled "Star Wars: Ahsoka". These sets include Ahsoka Tano's T-6 Jedi Shuttle and the New Republic E-Wing vs. Shin Hati’s Starfighter. Additionally, a brick-built display model of the beloved character Chewbacca™ was unveiled.
Two sets inspired by the upcoming streaming series, Star Wars: Ahsoka, have been announced ahead of its launch on Disney+ starting August 23. Set in a post-Empire era, the show follows Ahsoka Tano (portrayed by Rosario Dawson), a former Jedi, as she confronts a new danger in the galaxy. Building upon this exciting narrative, LEGO introduces two magnificent starship sets that allow fans to join Ahsoka on her intergalactic escapades.
LEGO 75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle
Embark on exciting Star Wars: Ahsoka adventures right at home with the LEGO® brick-building set 75362. This impressive set recreates Ahsoka Tano's T-6 Jedi Shuttle with remarkable detail. The 599 piece starship model features an opening cockpit for the LEGO minifigure, retractable landing gear for flight mode, two stud shooters, and two storage compartments to hold tools and weapons. This action-packed set introduces new-for-September 2023 minifigures: Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, Professor Huyang, and Marrok. Each minifigure comes with its own unique accessories like lightsabers and blasters, inspiring endless imaginative play.
LEGO 75364 New Republic E-Wing™ vs. Shin Hati’s Starfighter™
Prepare for an exciting intergalactic pursuit with the LEGO® Star Wars™ New Republic E-Wing vs. Shin Hati’s Starfighter (75364) building set, designed for ages 9 and up. Comprised of 1,056 pieces, this set includes two impressively detailed starship models from Star Wars,
featuring familiar characters as LEGO minifigures and a New Republic astromech droid minifigure. Both starships feature an accessible minifigure cockpit, two stud shooters, and ample space to store weaponry. Also, the E-wing starfighter includes additional space behind the cockpit and retractable landing gear.
These two sets complement the Ghost & Phantom II, which was unveiled on July 9th. LEGO and Star Wars enthusiasts can now bring to life scenes from the franchise by constructing the Ghost starship and its detachable Phantom II shuttle using LEGO® bricks. Both sets are accompanied by minifigures that resemble beloved characters such as General Hera Syndulla, Lt. Beyta, First Officer Hawkins, Jacen Syndulla, and Chopper (C1-10P).
LEGO 75371 Chewbacca™
In addition to the two sets featuring Star Wars: Ahsoka, the LEGO Group has expanded the LEGO® Star Wars™ collection with a new brick-built version of Chewbacca to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
This highly detailed display model, comprised of over 2,000 pieces, accurately portrays Chewbacca's distinct traits and equips him with a formidable bowcaster. Moreover, it includes an adorable Chewbacca minifigure accompanied by an information plaque. This tribute to a beloved Star Wars character serves as an evocative centerpiece, proudly standing at a height of 18 inches.
Jens Kronvold Frederiksen, the Design Lead for LEGO Star Wars, expressed his excitement, stating, “We’re so excited to bring these three notable products to the LEGO® Star Wars™ range. The new Star Wars: Ahsoka series is a major development within the Star Wars franchise, and we absolutely loved bringing these exciting vessels to life in LEGO brick form. César Carvalhosa Soares, a Senior Designer at the LEGO Group, shared his experience working on the Chewbacca building set, saying, “Designing the Chewbacca building set was one of my favourite projects so far – it was a great challenge to capture the character’s full body of hair in brick-form!”
The Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle, New Republic E-Wing™ vs. Shin Hati’s Starfighter™ and Chewbacca™ building sets are now available for pre-order and will be available to purchase from September 1, 2023 via LEGO stores, LEGO.com/Star-Wars and from select leading retailers around the world.
