LEGO Prime Day US – Retired Sets at Significant Discounts for LEGO Collectors and Investors

Amazon Prime Day US offers fewer overall deals than the UK site, but what's available focuses on already-retired LEGO sets with substantial discounts. Several LEGO Technic and LEGO Icons releases that sold out at retail are still available at up to 30% below RRP. For LEGO collectors and LEGO investors chasing sets that disappeared from shelves, this is the window to grab them before secondary market repricing takes over.

LEGO Icons and LEGO Star Wars Sets Lead the Best Prime Day Deals

$168 – 10317 LEGO Icons Land Rover Classic Defender 90 (30% off $239.99 RRP)

The 2,336-piece LEGO® Icons Land Rover Defender 90 recreates the iconic 1984 off-road vehicle with functional steering, working suspension, opening doors, and opening hood revealing accurate interior details including a coffee cup for the driver. The sand green body with white roof and black wheel trims captures classic LEGO Icons styling. The set offers flexibility: LEGO collectors can build as left-hand or right-hand drive, choose between diesel or petrol engine, and customize with off-road accessories including roll cage, fire extinguisher, jerry cans, toolbox, working winch, mudguards, and traction plates. At $72 off (30% discount), LEGO investors are buying a retired LEGO Icons release at exceptional value. LEGO Icons theme averages 11% AAG — solid long-term hold, and this LEGO set 10317 is already difficult to find at retail. LEGO collectors seeking authentic vehicle models recognize the Defender 90 as one of the strongest Icons releases.

$140 – 42156 LEGO Technic PEUGEOT 9X8 24H Le Mans Hybrid Hypercar (30% off $199.99 RRP)

The 1,621-piece LEGO Technic PEUGEOT 9X8 celebrates 100 years of Le Mans racing with 1:10 scale authenticity. The hybrid system features a working V6 piston engine connected to rear wheels plus a model electric motor and battery. LEGO Technic enthusiasts appreciate the suspension and steering designed specifically for this model, with steering operable via steering wheel or top gear wheel. Opening doors, glow-in-the-dark light elements capturing the 24-hour race atmosphere, and detailed livery graphics with PEUGEOT and sponsor logos complete the build. At $60 off (30% discount), this is a retired LEGO Technic release now sold out at retail — secondary market repricing is already underway. LEGO Technic sets don't see dramatic appreciation, but LEGO investors buying LEGO set 42156 at 30% discount on a retired release means you're ahead before resale even begins.

$112 – 75394 Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (30% off $159.99 RRP)

The 1,555-piece LEGO® Star Wars™ Imperial Star Destroyer features a hidden foldout carry handle for flying play, 2 spring-loaded shooters, lift-off top panel, and foldout side panels for interior access. The detailed interior includes the bridge, command room, break room, armory, control panels, and cargo box with thermal detonator and Kyber Crystal elements. Seven LEGO Star Wars minifigures represent the ship's crew: Darth Vader, Commander Praji, Imperial Gunner, Imperial Navy Trooper, Stormtrooper, and a special LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary minifigure of Cal Kestis. At $48 off (30% discount), this recent LEGO Star Wars release is performing well on secondary markets — the discount itself is the LEGO investment opportunity. LEGO Star Wars delivers consistent 10% AAG, and LEGO collectors buying LEGO set 75394 at retail discount positions them ahead when this set retires and pricing resets.

$98 – 75354 Star Wars Coruscant Guard Gunship (30% off $139.99 RRP)

The 1,083-piece LEGO Star Wars Coruscant Guard Gunship from The Clone Wars features 2 pilot cockpits, 2 stud shooters, 2 adjustable cannons, and a carry handle for flying. Rear hatch and sliding side panel provide easy access to the troop cabin. Five LEGO minifigures: Chancellor Palpatine, Commander Fox with 2 blaster pistols, 2 Coruscant Guards with blasters, and Padmé Amidala with blaster pistol. This LEGO set 75354 is already retired (sold out at retail last year) but Amazon has remaining inventory at $42 discount (30% off RRP). LEGO investors buying a retired LEGO Star Wars set at 30% below RRP capture straightforward value — secondary market pricing has already begun resetting upward, and this discount captures inventory that disappeared from shelves. LEGO Star Wars theme averages 10% AAG across all releases, making LEGO collectors and LEGO investors confident in long-term appreciation.

Limited Stock, Prime Day Only

These four sets represent the bulk of notable LEGO discounts on Prime Day US. Most are already retired or sold out at retail — Amazon is clearing final inventory at substantial markdowns. If LEGO collectors and LEGO investors have been watching any of these sets, now is the entry point before secondary market repricing locks in.

The strongest LEGO investment plays are the LEGO Icons Land Rover Defender 90 (LEGO Icons theme, 11% AAG) and the LEGO Star Wars Coruscant Guard Gunship (LEGO Star Wars theme, 10% AAG, already retired). Both are solid long-term holds at 30% discount on release prices.
