LEGO Technic Mercedes Car Launches 1st March 2024 | LEGO Technic Unveils Father and Son Versions of Iconic Mercedes F1 Cars!

Published: 9 months ago

Last Updated: 7 months ago

The LEGO Technic theme stands as a beacon of innovation and complexity within the LEGO universe, designed to challenge and captivate builders seeking a more intricate construction experience. Launched in 1977, Technic LEGO has continuously evolved, introducing a world of mechanical and engineering principles through its advanced building systems. These sets are distinguished by their functional gears, pistons, levers, and hydraulic systems, allowing for the creation of realistic models with authentic movements and mechanisms. From iconic vehicles and heavy machinery to awe-inspiring supercars and engineering marvels, LEGO Technic offers a hands-on exploration of the mechanics behind real-world machinery, bridging the gap between play and educational insights into the principles of engineering and technology. We take a look at two new great LEGO Mercedes Technic cars below:

Set Details

Your eyes are not deceiving you, the LEGO® Technic™ Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance series presents two distinct models of the same iconic car, tailored for different audiences and building experiences. The first, LEGO 42171, is a 1:8 scale model designed for adults, offering a detailed and immersive building journey that mirrors the super-concentration and precision of racing drivers in the zone. This model boasts authentic livery details, functional steering, a differential, a 6-cylinder engine with moving pistons, and an opening wing inspired by the car's DRS from the 2023 season, making it an exquisite display piece for any motorsport enthusiast.

Conversely, LEGO 42165 targets younger builders aged 7+ with a Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance Pull-Back race car. This version encapsulates the thrill of racing with a simplified yet authentic model featuring pull-back action, allowing kids to send their race car zooming forward. It serves as an engaging introduction to the world of engineering and motorsport, complete with sticker details inspired by the real-world race car. LEGO 42165 has been sized and priced in line with the existing models in the ever popular LEGO Speed Champions theme.

Both sets celebrate the engineering marvel of the Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance car, offering a unique building experience for fans of all ages. They also provide an opportunity for shared building sessions, bridging generations of LEGO and racing fans with models that are both engaging to build and exhilarating to play with or display.

A great innovative approach from LEGO on how to deliver their LEGO cars to the market to captivate the broadest possible audience. Both LEGO 42171 and LEGO 42165 will launch on March the 1st but are available to pre-order from LEGO immediately.
