LEGO sets based on films and musicals have become incredibly popular, offering fans a unique way to celebrate and engage with their favourite stories. And now we are eagerly awaiting the new LEGO Wicked sets which are set for release later in the year to coincide with release of the film of the musical. The beloved Wicked musical, now reimagined for the big screen, stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, a misunderstood young woman with green skin, and Ariana Grande as Glinda, a charming yet privileged figure. Their unlikely friendship takes them on extraordinary adventures, eventually leading them to fulfil their destinies as Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West. The LEGO Group and Universal Products & Experiences have unveiled the full line-up of LEGO® Wicked sets, inspired by the highly anticipated musical film, hitting theatres in November 2024. These four new sets capture the magic of the story with mini-dolls of iconic characters such as Glinda, Elphaba, The Wizard, and more. The sets will officially be available starting October 1st, 2024, with pre-orders open as of now (though delivery by bubble or broomstick is not included!).
Among the exciting releases is the LEGO Wicked Elphaba & Glinda Figures set. This set invites fans to engage with the story through a special QR code, allowing them to follow along and build to the iconic song “Defying Gravity.” The set includes Elphaba’s broom, Glinda’s purse, and crown, and a buildable base that transforms the set from a play experience into a display piece.
LEGO enthusiasts can also bring the Emerald City to life with the LEGO Wicked Welcome to Emerald City tower set, featuring five mini-dolls—Glinda, Elphaba, The Wizard, Madame Morrible, and Fiyero—and a stunning view of the famed city. Additionally, the LEGO Wicked Glinda & Elphaba’s Dormitory set lets fans recreate the dorm room with a suitcase-style design that opens to reveal the room. The set also features a hidden QR code that triggers the beloved song “Popular” from the film, allowing the characters to perform the iconic scene.
Another highlight is the LEGO Wicked Glinda, Elphaba & Nessarose at Shiz University set, which includes a detailed sailboat with golden accents and a hinged pink sail. The two-story university building is filled with balconies, study areas, and intricate details, where fans can follow Glinda as she arrives at the prestigious university and meets Elphaba and Nessarose.
