Set Details

The LEGO® Speed Champions Ferrari F40 Supercar (76934) is a must-have for car enthusiasts and LEGO fans alike. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the iconic Italian car brand, this model pays homage to the last car personally approved by Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari. The set captures the F40’s famous design details, including the rear spoiler, nose, tailpipes, rims, and air-intake features. The interior boasts a dashboard, handbrake, gear shift, red seats, and a steering wheel, providing an authentic building experience. This set also includes a Ferrari driver minifigure to place behind the wheel. Here at Investabrick, we think that the transition to a larger scale from the 75890 Ferrari F40 Competizione enhances the vehicle’s proportions and detail, making the 76934 Ferrari F40 an impressive upgrade from its predecessor. This model definitely balances design without over-relying on stickers, making it a great model in the LEGO Speed Champions lineup.

LEGO Speed Champions is a very popular theme for LEGO investing for us here at Investabrick. Comparable Set Analysis

The LEGO Speed Champions Ferrari sub-theme surprisingly underperforms the overall LEGO Speed champions theme delivering average annualised growth of 17%. That said, the individual Ferrari sets perform better than the grouped sets and it is these we have looked at in more detail below.

The biggest concern for this set is that LEGO Ferrari F40 Competitizone, the closest comparator, has slightly underperformed the theme average since retiring in 2021 and this model is very similar. LEGO 75890 retired with an RRP of $15 and is currently valued at $23 representing 53% growth (15% annualised growth). LEGO Ferrari F8 Tributo (75895) has more than doubled its $20 RRP since retiring in 2021 (34% annualised growth) and LEGO Scuderia Corsa 458 Italia GT2 (75908).

Set Number Set Name Retired Date RRP Current Value Total Growth Annualised Growth
75890 Ferrari F40 Competizione July 2021 $15 $23 53% 15%
76895 Ferrari F8 Tributo December 2021 $20 $43 115% 34%
75886 Ferrari 488 GT3 Scuderia Corsa December 2019 $15 $44 193% 26%

Conclusion

Were always very bullish on LEGO Speed Champions sets as future investments here at Investabrick, however, this is one that we are going to remain on the fence for at least for now. Whilst the theme continues to be excellent for LEGO investments we are slightly concerned by the similarity to LEGO 75890 and combined with that sets slight underperformance of the theme and sub-theme this is one we will watch and wait on, keep a keen eye on the demand at retail sale.

That said we think it’s a great model to build and display and you can add it to your collection at LEGO now.
