LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: The Shire (10354) – A Must-Have Set for Collectors and Investors Image

Part of a growing line of popular LEGO LOTR sets, LEGO fans, collectors, and investors alike will be thrilled by the latest addition to the LEGO Icons series: The Lord of the Rings: The Shire (10354). This stunning diorama transports builders to the heart of Hobbiton, capturing the whimsical charm and rich storytelling of The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Centred around Bilbo Baggins’ iconic hobbit hole, LEGO 10354 recreates his memorable eleventy-first birthday celebration with an incredible level of detail and nostalgia-packed features. From the lush, rolling greenery of The Shire to the delightful party scene featuring fireworks and the famous Party Tree, this set is a true homage to Tolkien’s legendary world. Whether you're a long-time fan of Middle-earth, an avid LEGO collector, or a LEGO investor seeking a valuable addition to your portfolio, this set delivers a compelling mix of immersive building, intricate design, and nostalgic appeal.

Set Details

LEGO 10354 comes with 2,017 piece and this immersive build brings The Shire to life with Bilbo’s round-doored home, a beautifully furnished interior, and iconic elements such as Gandalf’s horse and cart, fireworks, and the grand Party Tree. The set includes nine detailed minifigures—Bilbo, Frodo, Gandalf the Grey, Samwise, Merry, Pippin, Rosie, and the Proudfoots—allowing builders to recreate key moments from the films.

Interactive features add another layer of magic, including a mechanism to make Bilbo disappear in an instant, a transforming letter that reveals The One Ring, and interchangeable heads for Merry and Pippin to recreate their mischievous firework stunt. Measuring 20 cm high, 45 cm wide, and 27 cm deep, this impressive display piece comes with an RRP of $399.99 / £329.99 / €399.99, making it an exciting prospect for LEGO collectors and LEGO investors looking for a standout addition to their portfolio.

LEGO Icons Lord of the Rings the Shire is due to fully launch on April 5th, but is available to LEGO Insiders Members only 3 days earlier from April 2nd. Head to LEGO.com now to order yours!

Theme Analysis

This is the third large Lord of the Rings LEGO set within the LEGO Icons theme, following on from LEGO LOTR Rivendell (10316) and LEGO LOTR Barad-dur (10333) which have both been extremely popular sets at retail sale and ones here at Investabrick we expect to perform well when they retire.

The LEGO Icons theme is already a strong theme, having launched in 2013 and there been over 100 sets since then and with the retired sets delivering average annualised growth of 11%, but at Investabrick we expect the first 2 large LEGO LOTR sets to outperform this, and the likelihood is that we will see the same from LEGO 10354 too. Obviously, we will look to the performance of LEGO LOTR Rivendell and LEGO LOTR Barad-dur once they retire to give us better guidance as to what to expect from LEGO LOTR The Shire

Conclusion

Another great looking set from the LEGO Icons Lord of the Rings collection and one that is sure to be popular, with LEGO builders, LEGO collectors, LEGO investors and Lord of the Rings fans alike.

For those looking for an investment set in this space now, then we would strongly recommend looking to purchase LEGO 10316, LEGO LOTR Rivendell before it is most likely retired at the end of this year. The set has recently been listed on Amazon and the first signs of a few small discounts have appeared so worth keeping an eye on to snap up if further discounts become available!
