The Best 3 LEGO Star Wars Episode III Sets!

Published: 1 year ago

Last Updated: 6 months ago

Recreate Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, with these top LEGO sets. Are you ready to journey to a galaxy far, far away with the LEGO Star Wars Episode III theme, Revenge of the Sith? This series of sets brings all the exciting action from the release of the sixth, but chronologically third, Star Wars movie. The movie introduced exciting new ships, vehicles, and scenes that inspired great LEGO sets. For instance, the battle of Coruscant featured the Jedi Starfighter, flown by Anakin and Obi-Wan, and the ARC-170 Starfighter escorts and also immortalized in Lego brick form Anakin and Obi-Wan's Mustafar duel and Anakin's transformation into Darth Vader.

LEGO Star Wars has always been seen as a great theme to look for investments, and in LEGO Star Wars Episode III, the force is definitely strong with these bricks. Launched in 2005 and containing nearly 50 sets we have looked back and picked what we think have been the best 3 sets from an investment perspective.

7261 LEGO Star Wars Episode III Clone Wars Turbo Tank

Lego Star Wars

Discover the authenticity of the Clone Turbo Tank from Star Wars Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith in this set. The tank's gigantic wheels and efficient suspension system enable the Barc Speeder to swiftly flank your enemies while handling tough terrains. A host of detailed features and accessories wait to be revealed upon opening the tank's side panels. The revolving gun turret can even be detached for heightened action. The model includes top-quality Star Wars Minifigures, such as Mace Windu with a luminous lightsaber, 2 Clone Troopers, an Aerial Trooper, Kashyyyk Trooper, and 2 Battle Droids.

In terms of pure out and out profit, the best Star Wars Episode III set is the Clone Wars Turbo Tank from 2005. With just 801 pieces and 7 minifigures (1 of which is unique), this set retailed at £69.99 for a year and now has a value in excess of £600, representing total growth of 780% and annualized growth of 14%

Looking just the Minifigures, the 7 of them have a current value of over £300, half of that coming from the unique SW0133 Mace Windu. SW0131 Scout Trooper Episode 3 and SW0128 Clone Trooper Episode 3 are the other valuable Minifigures within the set.

7257 LEGO Star Wars Episode III Ultimate Lightsaber Duel

Lego Sets

This set spit opinion in terms of those who loved it, and those who hate it, when it was released. It isn’t a great looking display piece, but many loved the playability aspect of the set and the 2 light-up Minifigs of Obi-Won and Anakin Skywalker.

In terms of total percentage growth, the best of the Star Wars Episode III sets is the Ultimate Lightsaber Duel. Consisting of 282 pieces along with 2 unique Minifigures it was originally available for sale in 2005 for just £24.99, its current value is now 1500% higher than at just under £400, an annualized return of 17%.

The 2 Minifigures are both highly valuable in their own right, SW0121 Anakin Skywalker and SW0137 Obi Wan Kenobi account for 30% of the sets overall value.

75135 LEGO Star Wars Episode III Ob-Wan’s Jedi Interceptor

Lego

Explore the vast expanse of the LEGO Star Wars universe with Obi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor! With its genuine design, cockpit that opens, two spring-loaded shooters, expandable wings and room for the R4-P17 Astromech Droid included, this model is the perfect embodiment of the Star Wars galaxy. An Obi-Wan Kenobi minifigure, coupled with his Lightsaber, is included for even more fun as you defeat the enemy starships by firing its spring-loaded shooters.

In terms of the highest annualized growth, Obi-Wan’s Jedi Interceptor is the pick of the LEGO Star Wars Episode III sets. With 215 pieces and 2 Minifigures (1 of which is unique) this set has delivered annualized growth of just over 30% since it retired in 2016 having increased in value from an RRP of 19.99 to just over £100 today.

Sub-theme Analysis

We ran our ruler over the nearly 50 retired sets within the sub theme and it really has been a strong one from an investment perspective. 87% of the sets have returned double digit annual growth and as a total group the average annual return has been 17%, a cracking investment in anyone’s book!

To have bought all of the sets would have cost you £1,350 and have a current value of just over £6,000, getting very close to £5,000 total profit.

If, like us, you think this theme will continue its strong performance then it’s worth having a look at the one remaining set available at retail sale, the LEGO Star Wars AT-AT (75288) which can currently be purchased at LEGO.com for £149.99.
