With LEGO Pokémon officially confirmed for a 2026 release, fans around the world are already buzzing with anticipation about what characters might be part of this legendary crossover. While The LEGO Group has remained tight-lipped beyond the initial teaser, a few early rumours are giving us just enough to fuel some serious speculation.

So… which Pokémon do we want to see in LEGO form?

Pikachu, Obviously

Let’s start with the obvious. Pikachu is the face of Pokémon – and he already appeared in LEGO’s first teaser video. A brick-built Pikachu seems inevitable, likely in a more display-worthy 18+ format, potentially even animatronic. Think LEGO Hogwarts Icons Hedwig, but with electricity.

The Original Starters: Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle

Every generation of fans has a soft spot for the original trio. LEGO has had success with small creature builds (like BrickHeadz or Minecraft mobs), and these three feel like natural fits—either as brick-built characters or even as potential Minifigure companions, if LEGO heads in that direction.

Legendary Pokémon

Mewtwo, Lugia, Rayquaza, and Arceus. These larger-than-life characters would be perfect as centerpiece models, akin to LEGO Icons or Star Wars UCS sets. Given the price point of one of the rumoured sets, we may already be looking at something of that scale…

Rumoured LEGO Pokémon Sets for 2026

While we wait for official reveals, early reports from [jjpsleaksite] via [Clay Bricks on Reddit] suggest that two sets are currently planned for early 2026:

No piece counts or themes have leaked just yet, but the wide pricing gap suggests a mix of medium and large display-focused builds—perfect for serious Pokémon fans.

Set Number Price Age Range Release
72151 $59.99 18+ Early 2026
72152 $199.99 18+ Early 2026

What Else Could We Get?

Minifigure-Scale Pokémon World?

This is the dream. A LEGO Viridian City Gym, Team Rocket hideout, or even Pallet Town built to scale, with classic trainers and Gym Leaders as Minifigures and scaled Pokémon to match.

Given LEGO’s recent track record with video game-based themes like Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and the upcoming LEGO Game Boy, this sort of detailed, interactive Pokémon world doesn’t seem out of reach.

Brick-Built Pokémon Collections

Imagine display sets featuring multiple Pokémon, either from the same evolution line (Charmander to Charizard?) or themed groups (Eeveelutions, anyone?). Think LEGO Botanical Collection, but make it battle-ready.

Why This Matters

Pokémon is the highest-grossing media franchise in history, surpassing even Star Wars. Meanwhile, LEGO is coming off years of successful IP crossovers. With The Pokémon Company ending its long-standing partnership with Mega Construx, this LEGO® collaboration feels like the natural evolution (pun intended) of the franchise in the brick world.

Final Thoughts

It’s still early days, but this is shaping up to be LEGO’s biggest license in years. Whether you’re hoping to build a team of classic Pokémon, recreate epic showdowns, or simply admire a display of your favourites, the possibilities are as endless as the Pokédex.

What Pokémon are you hoping to build first?

Stay tuned – we’ll be covering every brick of LEGO Pokémon as it unfolds in the run-up to 2026.
