The LEGO Icons theme covers a very broad range and includes some amazing sets many with excellent post-retirement performance which produces an average annualised growth 12%.
The LEGO Icons Palace Cinema (10232) retired in Dec-17 with an RRP of £130 and has now more than doubled in value to £296, producing annualised returns of 15%. Conclusion
This set is definitely an investment for us, just not currently. Having just been released and only available at the full RRP, whilst we think this is a very strong set, we are happy to wait to add it to our collection down the line, rather than tying up money on a set that is likely to have 2 or 3 years left on the retail shelf.
Buy to build now or look to buy as an investment in a few years time near to retirement.
