21265 LEGO Minecraft The Crafting Table | Celebrate 15 Years of Adventure with LEGO Minecraft The Crafting Table (21265)

LEGO Minecraft has emerged as a sensation among builders and gamers alike. After Minecraft’s full release in 2011, the game quickly became one of the best-selling video games ever, captivating players globally across various platforms. Recognizing this immense popularity, LEGO joined forces with Minecraft in 2012, launching their first set, 21102 LEGO Minecraft Micro World, at the IDEAS stage. Following this, three more models were released before LEGO announced Minecraft would become a full theme complete with minifigures. This collaboration merges the imaginative world of Minecraft with the hands-on, creative play of LEGO, allowing fans to construct and personalize their own brick-based adventures. The intricate sets bring Minecraft’s pixelated landscapes to life, offering enthusiasts of all ages the chance to build structures, create custom worlds, and battle iconic mobs. We take a look at one of the new Minecraft LEGO sets below which is set for release on August 1st:

Theme Analysis

The LEGO Minecraft theme was first launched in 2012 and since then there have been nearly 140 sets released of which just over 100 are now retired LEGO. On average the theme has returned average annualised growth of 10%, a solid performance, and there are definitely sets within the theme that have well outperformed this including at this price point which is encouraging for when LEGO 21265 retires.

We have looked at some of those retired Minecraft LEGO sets below including LEGO The Fortress (21127) which has more than doubled its $110 RRP since retiring at the end of 2017 to its current value of just over $250 (14% annualised growth). LEGO The Ocean Monument (21136) is close to doubling its $120 RRP having retired at the end of 2018 (annualised growth of 13%) whilst LEGO The Mine (21118) has nearly tripled its $110 RRP to its value of just over $310 since retiring in 2015 (13% annualised growth).

Set Number Set Name Retired Date RRP Current Value Total Growth Annualised Growth
21127 The Fortress December 2017 $110 $256 133% 14%
21174 The Modern Treehouse December 2022 $120 $130 8% 5%
21136 The Ocean Monument December 2018 $120 $235 96% 13%
21118 The Mine December 2015 $110 $311 183% 13%

Conclusion

We think LEGO the Crafting Table is a great LEGO Minecraft set, built on the same premise as some other previous “cube” based sets like LEGO 71395 Super Mario Question Mark Block and one that we have very high hopes for further down the line when it retires, likely to be at the end of 2026.

The LEGO Minecraft theme is strong and has some very decent performance from a lot of the retired LEGO sets, especially at a similar price point with the overall theme having 10% average LEGO investment returns and one we are comfortable selecting future investments from.

Obviously for now it is not one we would consider for investment (but has gone on our watchlist for sure!) but for Minecraft fans this feels like a must build and you can pre-order it already at the LEGO site!
