Over 200 sets have been released in the LEGO seasonal theme since the first set of Santa was released in 1999. These sets have delivered consistent returns resulting in annualised average growth of 11%.
LEGO Chinese Traditional Festivals was launched in 2013 and there have been more than 20 sets so far in a sub theme that seems to be growing in popularity. The retired sets have produced annualised growth of 16%.
That first set in 2013 Was LEGO Year of the Snake (10250) which has more than tripled in value now delivering annualised growth of 12%. The smaller and more recent LEGO Year of the Pig (40186) is close to trebling in value in just under 5 years since it retired in 2019, stunning annualised growth of 24%.
