Launched in 2011, the story-based theme has gone from strength to strength nearly 500 sets released over the years, along with multiple amusingly animated TV Series, Movies & Video Games. The story is based around six teenage Ninjas who use their fictional martial art fighting style of Spinjitzu to defend their land of NINJAGO from evil and ensure peace reigns.

Set Details
One of the most fun sets to build must be 70620 Ninjago City which is based on the NINJAGO Lego Movie. The set, which is now retired, was released in 2017 and with 4867 pieces and 16 minifigures, it is one of the larger LEGO sets. Set over 3 floors which can be accessed via its own elevator, as well as two removable upper floors to see inside, the set is full of surprises and clever touches. The Old World base level includes a fish market, house, a bridge over a stream, and a fishing boat. The next level, Street, includes a comic book store with brick-built sign, crab restaurant with ‘crab-grilling’ function and cash-dispensing ATM. The final level, Skyline, includes apartments, a rooftop sushi bar with sushi conveyor belt, and a radio tower. All of the elements of the building can be accessed via the elevator, walkways and ladders making this not only a fantastic model to build, but also one which has great ‘playability’ and investment potential.

Investment Potential
This set retailed for £260 from September 2017 to its retirement in November 2019. In the 3 years since this set has already doubled in value and we fully expect that growth to continue, albeit at a reduced rate. A popular set, from a popular theme, with demand outstripping supply makes for very favourable investment conditions.

This set is part of the LEGO NINJAGO Movie theme, which contains 33 sets, all released in 2017 and 2018 and all are now retired.

Conclusion
Without doubt this looks a cracking set to buy as an investment. The value has already more than doubled in 3 years and whilst the rate of growth may slow there should still be decent price appreciation over the coming years.
