The overall LEGO Icons theme is a strong one with historic annualised growth of 14% but with such a diverse range of sub-themes we are only looking directly at the modular building sub-theme (including the sets which were in Advanced Models up until 2016).
This really is a sensational sub-theme, 13 retired sets which between them would have cost just over £1,500 but are now worth nearly £10,000 cumulatively. Delivering an annualised average growth of 25%. The theme is undeniably consistent to. The poorest performing of the 13 sets LEGO Icons Pet Shop (10218) has delivered annualised growth of 13% At the other end of the scale is LEGO Icons Downtown Diner (10260) which since retiring 2 and ½ years ago has more than doubled in value delivering annualised growth of 35%.
A very clear cut straightforward investment opportunity in one of the best possible sub-themes currently which delivers consistent annualised growth across all the sets at an average of 25% and we see no reason that this set won’t produce similar.
