25 Years of LEGO Star Wars

In honour of the 25th anniversary of the dynamic collaboration between the LEGO Group and Lucasfilm, a year-long celebration has been unveiled. The festivities kick off at the Spielwarenmesse: Nuremberg International Toy Fair, featuring new LEGO Star Wars building sets adorned with a special 25th-anniversary logo. These sets, available for pre-order and launching on March 1, include the Starship Collection, Tantive IV ships, and a commemorative R2-D2 edition. Notable additions are collectible minifigures and anniversary tiles, offering fans unique elements to cherish. Visitors to the LEGO booth at Spielwarenmesse can witness a life-sized Star Wars LEGO R2-D2 build made from 27,797 LEGO elements, traveling across Europe and the U.S. throughout 2024.

A LEGO Star Wars set

Adding to the excitement, the LEGO Star Wars 25-Second Film Festival, scheduled to start on March 1, invites fans worldwide to create short films using LEGO Star Wars sets. Celebrating creativity, the festival allows fans to recreate favourite Star Wars moments or craft new ones. Mike Ilacqua, Head of Product at the LEGO Group, expresses gratitude to the fan community for their vital role in the collaboration’s success. Additionally, the anniversary brings an updated edition of DK’s LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary, available for pre-order with an exclusive new minifigure and set for release in April 2024.
