Its LEGO Star Wars, what else is there to say!!! Delivering annualised growth of 12% across a large number of sets and sub-themes for more than 2 decades there’s little doubt about the success of the LEGO Star Wars theme.

We look at some of the older sets at a similar price point to LEGO 75292, these included LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Fighter (7191) which retired just over 20 years ago with an RRP of £106 and is today valued at just over ten times that amount (11% annualised growth) and LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75055) which had an RRP of £120 when retiring in 2015 and is now valued at more than double that amount at nearly £300 (12% annualised growth).

Initial performance has been at the 2 extremes. Conclusion

A retiring set from the Star Wars theme is always high up our investment list and this one seems to be a strong candidate to invest in. A relatively new sub-theme with some mixed performance clouds the picture slightly but we still think this set is worth adding to your portfolio, especially if you can find it at a discount before it retires.
